LaunchPad's Birthday bash Event series

This week LaunchPad turns one year old, and we're celebrating all week!

Thursday night, September 1 is an introspective evening of folk and Indian fusion sounds.
Betsy Nestle, Mica Williams and Sangita Moskow will each play 20-30-min sets at the inside event space, beginning at 8:30. suggested donation is 5$ (no one turned away).

the show will be preceded by a free open-grill BBQ potluck, beginnning at 6:30.


Friday night, September 2, is punk rock night with My Youth in Arcadia, Exasperation Missionary, and guests starting at 9 pm.

Saturday, September 3rd, Day 3, is a block party featuring music & dance, interactive art, demos & skill-trades.

Art events include Chi Lai's LaunchPad Community Mural Project, a 17-foot participatory paint-by-numbers mural which will be painted throughout the day from 11 am till 7:30 pm
BBQ grill will be open for DIY, food plates & beverages & cups will be on sale from noon on..

outdoor ampEartheater:
6 pm: spoken word hour
7 pm: hip hop hour

These events also serve a second purpose:  to help with LaunchPad's legal defense fund. 
Threatened with eviction, we've been negotiating with the landlord. Since we've bit the bullet and hired a good activist lawyer we've been getting some pretty good news,  but now we have to pay the bills.  Thanks for your help!

BTW Sunday the 4th  isn't officially part of the birthday events, but in addition to the weekly community garden day 2-6, Chi Lai says there will still be more mural work being doen then, if anybody want to come help..
